Lira | As the saying goes, “health is wealth.” Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, a Lira City woman Member of Parliament, is interested in this subject.

Dr. Aceng, who is also the Minister of Health, says her constituents and Lango in general should expect her continued support for health and other socioeconomic programmes.

Currently, she says her interventions in key areas for Lira City residents are ongoing. “Be positive, my people, and do not allow anyone’s propaganda. “The people of Lira City gave me their mandate, and I am up to the task,” she stated.

In her message to this publication, Dr. MP Aceng stated that Lango unity is critical to the realisation of peace and development.

According to her, she will use her lobbying skills to bring development to the sub-region, describing the situation as “a work in progress.”

Dr. Aceng has lobbied for and ensured the installation of dialysis machines for cancer treatment at Lira Regional Referral Hospital in just two and a half years as an MP.

“This and other developments were the result of my direct influence and lobbying from the government and with other global development partners on behalf of Uganda and my people,” she stated.

According to her, the welfare and prosperity of women, girls, and men in their homes is critical.

She has recently supported women-owned businesses in the city, promising a well-packaged intervention for business groups.
