On Tuesday afternoon, a fisherman was fatally shot at the Kitwe landing site on Lake Kyoga in Amolatar district.
Only identified as Charles, he was reportedly shot in the head by a Fishery Protection Unit (FPU) soldier.
According to Shara Ejang of tndNews, the soldiers also arrested the deceased’s colleague and took him to the Bangala landing site, which is a few kilometres from the crime scene.
It is unclear why he was shot and killed.
