Hope high for July 6 as UPC starts with Iceme in final day of campaign

Oyam, July 4, 2023: UPC top leaders on Monday, July 3 camped in Oyam North constituency to woo support for candidate Dr Apio Eunice Otuko.

Led by their party leader Jimmy Akena, the UPC party leaders, among them Members of Parliament from across Lango sub-region campaigned in Aleka and Iceme sub-counties in the afternoon.

MPs Maxwell Akora of Maruzi County and national party treasurer, Ocan Patrick of Apac Municipality; Nelson Lemba Okello of Maruzi County North and Kenny Auma, (Kwania District, woman) and Vincent Obong Eyit of Lira City West were all in Oyam North.

Others were UPC candidate for Woman MP Apac District in 2021, Achola Suzan Engola, Apac Municipality Mayor, Ongom Eyul; UPC Regional Vice Chairperson for Lango, Ongom Chris and Apac District UPC Chairman, among others.

Ahead of July 6 by-election, all four candidates: Dr Apio Eunice Otuko (UPC), Newton Freddy Okello (FDC), Okello Daniel (NUP), and Okello Samuel Engola of NRM will conclude their campaigns on July 4, this is according to a roadmap by the electoral commission (EC).

This publication understands that the UPC candidate and Akena will traverse through the constituency. They will start from Iceme sub-county.
