Abim, November 13, 2022: 101 people drawn from different sub-parishes of Alerek have Sunday received the sacrament of confirmation at St. Peter’s Church of Uganda, Alerek Parish, Alerek Archdeaconry in North Karamoja Diocese.
They were confirmed by the Rt. Rev Bishop James Nasak, the outgoing Bishop of the Church of Uganda, North Karamoja Diocese.
This is part of Bishop Nasak’s holy work as he starts to tour different Archdeaconries across the Diocese.
He will also be installing new Archdeaconries before exiting office on December 27, 2022.
Those he confirmed underwent catechism training for three months.
While delivering his message during the ceremony, Nasak thanked the Archdeaconry of Alerek for working closely with him during his time of service and appealed to them to accord the incoming bishop the same cooperation and support for the growth of the Church.
In a message delivered to Nasak by the people’s warden of Alerek Archdeaconry, John Omwony thanked him for installing Alerek Archdeaconry in 2017, supporting the training of the lay readers in Alerek.
Omwony also thanked Nasak for supporting the establishment of Alerek seed secondary school which is Church founded and for establishing an excellent relationship with the Catholic faith through his patronage and Rt. Rev Giuseppe Philippi, the Bishop for Kotido Catholic Diocese.
Bishop Nasak started his farewell tour from Alerek Archdeaconry and will finalize with Christ the King Church on December 25 2022 before handing over office two days later.
