“The curse of penalties buried the amazing England” – Minister Amongi

It was penalty shootout heartbreak again for England as they lost 2:3 to Italy after extra time ended 1:1.

Kampala – 12, July 2021: England’s youngsters: Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka missed scoring from the spot, allowing Italy to win EURO 2020 tournament at Wembley stadium.

The defeats extend England’s wait since winning such trophy to more than 55 years. On Sunday, they had an upper hand to winning it.

Luke Shaw scored after two (2) minutes of first half – sending over 65,000 fans at Wembley Stadium to jubilate, chant and hug each other amid Covid-19 pandemic.

Italy’s Leonardo Bonucci equalized in the 67 minutes. “He was also one of three Italians to find the net from 12 yards at the end of extra-time to seal their second Euros crown, after their first in 1968,” Sky Sports reports.

The tournament was watched by people around the globe, and in Uganda, one of the Ministers, and the Oyam South Member of Parliament, Betty Amongi Ongom, had this to say:
