Lutheran World Relief, Rotary Uganda delivers relief items to Bududa victims

Bududa – Lutheran World Relief and Rotary Uganda both nongovernmental organization in Uganda over the weekend donated relief food items worth about shillings 68 million to 300 people affected by recent mudslide in Bududa district.

The items were delivered by Arthur Nkubito and Rotarian Gorret Mazande to the landslide victims.

The victims [beneficiaries] were identified early on at a meeting held at Bukigayi Town council.

Arthur Nkubito – from Lutheran World Relief told journalists.

Some of the items they donated include; mattresses, bags of posho, sugar, beans, jerrycans, cooking oil, among other items.

The two organizations delivered to the items to the victims through their officers.

“We found these people in a very sorrow state and felt we should come in to support them,” Mr Arthur says.

Rotarian Gorret Mazande from Kisubi Rotary Club says the donation was part of their corporate social responsibility as Rotarian.

She says: “One of our pillars as Rotary Club is to see people in peace and Bududa disaster directly concerns us.”

Residents who were not affected by recent disaster were called upon not grab items which are meant to support the real victims.

Similarly, those who received the items were called upon not to sell them.
