Ambulance hits mango tree, no death

An ambulance with registration number UAV 764B belonging to Lalogi Health Centre IV in Omoro district was involved in a damaging road accident.

An eyewitness told our Reporter that the vehicle which was over speeding with five people on board lost control, veering off from the main road.

“The driver (unidentified) who later took off was driving so fast. It (vehicle) rolled and stopped after hitting hard a mango tree,” Komakech James, an eyewitness narrated.

Miraculously, no death was reported in that accident that left ambulance wrecked badly.

The five ‘commuters’ however, were later rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital, Lacor with grave injuries.

The Friday accident occurred along Opit-Awoo road at Wi-atoo village located 4 km after Opit Town Council in Omoro district.

Aswa Regional Police spokesperson Patrick Okema could not be available for comment by press time.

However, a Police officer who asked for anonymity said investigation into what caused the accident had commenced
