MP Olanya accuses MP Nokrach of blocking him from speaking before Museveni

By OTII DENIS

Kilak South MP Gilbert Olanya has protested the protocol team’s decision to block him from addressing dignitaries at functions where president Museveni is commissioning a church and guest of honour at the fundraising for Atiak technical school within his constituency.

Olanya accuses the protocol team of having been influenced by William Nokrach, the MP for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Northern Uganda, who is said to be nursing ambitions to contest for the same seat come 2021/23 general elections.

Speaking to TND News, Olanya said he was unfairly left out of the program since he is the one with vast knowledge of his constituents’ issues of concern, which should be brought to the attention of the president.

President Museveni is set to commission All Saints Church in Olwal parish and launch a fundraising drive for construction of school dormitories at Atiak Technical School today in Amuru district.

The denial of Olanya to speak at the functions confirms reports that the president’s visit also is partly to unveil Nokrach as the preferred NRM candidate for the 2021/23 parliamentary elections.

Nokrach however denied influencing the protocol team in anyway.
