While campaigning ahead of the Thursday election, Jane Frances Acilo highlighted what she has already done for the people of Oyam district, and what she intends to do when elected in 2026.
On July 5, Opito was told of the bad state of water access and scarcity in these areas. He quickly pledged to intervene.

On June 17, Opito Moses was the first to be nominated from Oyam South ahead of NRM primary elections next month.
The NRM party primaries for all MP aspirants, LC5 chairpersons, Lord councillors, mayors are scheduled to take place on July 16, 2025.
Ahead of the primary elections, Opito Moses believes NRM party delegates in Oyam South will elect him.
Oyam South will elect the successor of Betty Amongi who has left for Lira City, and Opito Moses has been tipped for the Constituency seat.
