On the roadmap for campaigns, Opito Moses says, “We have a clear roadmap.”
The NRM electoral commission in Oyam district has issued a stern warning to all aspirants ahead of the party primary campaigns which starts on Friday, July 4.
At a district briefing with candidates for MP and LC5 seats, Jackoline Adong, the NRM district election officer for Oyam district, reminded nominated candidates that they would use joint campaigns.
All, she said, should follow the law and party guidelines.
James Shilaku, the RDC of Oyam asked candidates to use the joint campaign to sell NRM manifesto other than confronting others.
Shilaku’s deputy, Richard Tabaro, advocated for the need to address internal grievances through written complaints to proper channels, including the electoral commission and party leadership, rather than airing disputes publicly.
He stressed the value of private dialogue and conflict resolution to maintain party unity.
On campaign conduct, he advised candidates to prepare for both victory and defeat.
Opito Moses, nominated on July 17 to participate in the forthcoming primary election, said: “We now have a clear roadmap, where we are going to go, what is expected of us, the time we are going to be given.”
“Another thing which has come out of this meeting, which is great, has been the issue of reconciliation and making peace. We came in the meeting when people had heavy hearts, but people have gone back with hugs, smiles, and handshakes.”
Among others, Opito is promising Oyam South “constructive and productive representation in the 12th Parliament” should he be elected.
His core message to the youth, men and women, and elders is “rise up and walk with me in making Oyam South better.”

Youth and women empowerment, land protection and institutional development, wealth creation are some of Opito’s core plans for the constituency.
