Tooro Succession Battle Deepens As Alleged Birth Certificate Of Oyo’s Son Surfaces

The battle over the Tooro throne has taken a new twist after a purported birth document said to belong to Prince Jacksonville Jacob Oyo, the child described by some members and supporters of the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV as his biological son and heir, surfaced online.

The heavily redacted document reportedly circulated on social media on September 28 and 29, 2026. It appears to show newborn footprints, while names, dates and other identifying details have been blacked out.

The document has triggered fresh debate among social media users, with some questioning its authenticity and others suggesting it could become relevant to ongoing legal efforts challenging the succession of Prince Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I.

However, there is no public confirmation from NIRA, a US vital-records authority, the hospital allegedly linked to the document, or the Tooro Kingdom that the document is genuine or belongs to a biological son of the late king.
