Media personality Sheilah Gashumba has hit back at Robert Kayanja Jr, questioning why his family once paid her Shs2 million to promote a fashion brand despite his claims that she is a bad influence on young girls.
The public exchange follows Kayanja Jr’s criticism of Sheilah, whom he accused of misleading young women through her lifestyle and public image. He also described her as a “half naked DJ with no musical talent.”
In her response, Sheilah revealed that in December 2020, Pastor Jessica Kayanja contacted her and invited her to the launch of her daughter Kristiana’s clothing line, reportedly offering her Shs2 million to promote the brand on social media.
Sheilah praised Kristiana’s talent as a fashion designer but questioned why the family had sought her influence to promote the business if they considered her a negative role model for young girls.
She also accused Kayanja Jr of diverting the original debate from discussions about alleged miracle claims by religious leaders into personal attacks against her.
The dispute began when Sheilah’s father, Frank Gashumba, challenged pastors and other religious leaders claiming miraculous healing to demonstrate their powers on critically ill patients, offering Shs200 million before reportedly raising the amount to Shs500 million.

Pastor Robert Kayanja subsequently defended his ministry against allegations of fake miracles, insisting that healing comes through Jesus. His son later joined the debate, defending the family’s church and criticising Sheilah’s public image. Sheilah has since advised Kayanja Jr to control his temper and avoid turning disagreements into personal confrontations, warning that his approach could affect the legacy of his father as the public dispute continues.
