Maria Namuyomba, the daughter of legendary Ugandan musician Moses Matovu, has shared a touching tribute following the death of her father, revealing the dream she had hoped he would witness before his passing.Namuyomba said her greatest wish was for her father to live long enough to see her graduate as a doctor.

However, Matovu passed away while she was still pursuing her medical studies at university.“My biggest wish was for my dad to see me become a doctor. Unfortunately, he has passed away while I am in my fourth year at university,” she said.

The young doctor-in-training said losing her father before completing her studies has been one of the most painful experiences she has faced, especially because he had always supported her journey.

Namuyomba also expressed sadness over not being with her father during his final moments, saying she wished she had been there to help him.

“I wish I had been there to save him,” she said, while reflecting on the loss of the man who played a major role in her life.She described Matovu as a loving and supportive father who encouraged her education and personal growth throughout her life.Although he will not be present to witness her graduation, Namuyomba said she will.
