Kampala socialite and KFM presenter Doreen Nasasira has maintained her position about relationships, saying she will never again settle for a man she describes as financially unstable, broke or penniless.

Nasasira said her comments were based on her personal experiences and not intended as general advice to other people about relationships or marriage.

Her remarks have attracted mixed reactions online, with some people criticising her views while others argued that individuals have different expectations when choosing partners.

Some critics accused her of promoting relationships based on money, saying such opinions could influence young people negatively.

However, Nasasira said she was not bothered by the criticism and insisted that her statement was simply her personal opinion based on what she has experienced.

“What I said wasn’t from the perspective of a motivational speaker or a feminist. It was my personal opinion. Don’t insult me. If you have never dated a person in similar financially unstable circumstances to what I did, don’t give me any attention,” she said.

The media personality explained that she would not reject someone who has little money but is hardworking, responsible and willing to build a future together.

Nasasira clarified that her concern was about being with someone who has no financial stability or willingness to improve their situation.

She said that everyone has their own standards and choices when it comes to relationships, adding that criticism would not change her position.

Nasasira’s comments have continued to generate debate online, with Ugandans sharing different opinions about love, money, financial responsibility and expectations in relationships.
