Amolatar | A 35-year-old man, Elai Ceasor, lost his hand in a violent confrontation linked to an extramarital affair in Muntu Mwalu, located in Muntu sub-county, Amolatar.
Reports indicate that Elai’s hand was hit and cut by a man named Obonyo, the husband of Abonyo Eunice.
Obonyo reportedly caught Elai with his wife.
Last week, Obonyo traveled back to his home district in Dokolo, leaving his wife behind at the Muntu, where they had been engaged in farming activities.
During this time, Elai reportedly began a relationship with Abonyo Eunice.
On Thursday, it is alleged that Obonyo secretly returned to Muntu. That same day, Elai began calling Abonyo Eunice, insisting that he was coming to see her despite her warnings that her husband had returned.
Persistent Elai went to Obonyo’s home.
Upon arrival, Obonyo reportedly armed himself with a machete and cut Elai’s hand.
Residents, angered by the violent act, attacked Obonyo, leading to all parties being rushed to Amolatar Health Centre IV for medical treatment.
Efforts to obtain comments from the District Police Commander of Amolatar were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
