Maj. Robert Okello has been promoted and posted to Lango as a new Regional Internal Security Officer (RISO).
He will succeed Capt. David Drici, who has been transferred to the Acholi sub-region in a similar role.
Maj. Okello, who previously served as the first City Internal Security Officer (CISO) of Lira, took over the office during the official handover held at the (RISO) offices on March 10 in the evening.
The highly celebrated intelligence and security expert, Okello, is transferring his service from the Kampala Metropolitan East Region. There, he served as CISO for over three years before his transfer to Lira City.
Maj. Okello’s deployment to Lango will bring hope for a renewed energy in upholding the professionalism and safeguard of the security image in the sub-region.
The new RISO has pledged to foster professionalism and enhance the standard of security operations across Lango.
Speaking during the handover, he also promised to strengthen the image of the security and safeguard the reputation of the forces by ensuring they operate with integrity, collaborate with stakeholders and work closely with local leaders and the community.
Additionally, he intends to bring the same proactive approach he used during his three-year tenure in Kampala Metropolitan East and his previous role as Lira’s first CISO.
