The Kwania district woman Member of Parliament has pledged to donate 30 bags of cement worth more than shs1 million to Dokolo Primary School for the construction of the girls’ latrine.
MP Kenny Auma Lapat pledged during the Dokolo women’s day celebration at Dokolo primary school, Dokolo town council last week.
The girl’s latrine at the school is now in a dilapidated state and risky to human health.
Lapat appealed to people of the Lango sub-region to prioritise and value education as a virtual investment for tomorrow.
Shara Aguti Nyangkori, the district woman MP for Dokolo, also pledged to meet with the district education department to address issues of inadequate teachers in all government-aided institutions across the district.
The Resident District Commissioner of Dokolo Babra Akech, noted that there are still low rates of completion of school among girls.
RDC Akech said this while threatening the district. She applauded the woman MP for always struggling to improve the performance among learners.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of the women’s council for Dokolo, Stella Adero decries low performance in schools.
She attributes the problem to inadequate teachers, saying it is greatly distorting and affecting the performance of the district.
Adero called for immediate intervention to address these challenges.
