Hundreds benefit from TotalEnergies EP Uganda scholarships since 2013

A total of 253 Tilenga Project Affected Persons (PAPs) have benefited TotalEnergies EP Uganda’s annual A’ level scholarship programs with more male counterparts.

The beneficiaries of the program are from the four project host districts of Buliisa, Nwoya, Pakwach and Masindi.

Speaking during the handover of this year’s A’ level scholarship in Buliisa, Moses Ogamdhogwa, the company’s senior social site supervisor, said that the program is meant to enhance education systems to communities hosting the project.

According to him, the program is part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the project host communities.

Ogamdhogwa urged the program beneficiaries to be hard workers at school since the sponsor will have a mandate to terminate the two-year scholarship contract if poor performance is realised.

He encouraged parents to always remain supportive towards the education of their children, the support which will help them win scholarships.

The 2026 sponsorship targets Buliisa with 10 students, Masindi 5, Nwoya 10 and Pakwach with 5 students.

Meanwhile the beneficiaries who will attend their Advanced levels of education at different secondary schools across the country including King’s College Buddo were equally offered free scholastic materials including a mattress, suit case, a pair of bedsheets, a blanket, a mathematical set per individual.

Other items include flat iron, pairs of bed sheets, mosquitoes, rain coat, bible, dictionary, pair of trousers, t-shirt, basin, jerrycan, among others.

Mariam Babirye, a beneficiary who completed her Senior four from Masindi Army, appreciated TotalEnergies EP Uganda for the scholarship program, saying that the program has given her another hope for education.

“I really appreciate TotalEnergies EP Uganda for this scholarship, I never had any hope of going for further studies since my parents are financially constrained,” she said.

Babirye encouraged her fellow ladies to strive harder for their better further through education.

Alinaitwe Marvin, who also completed from Masindi Army also appreciated the program, wishing the project a long life.

A parent who was only identified as Patrick, said that the program will help him now focus on educating other children who also need education.
