UPC suffers in LC3 chairpersons’ elections in Dokolo

The NRM party has dominated the local government election in the Dokolo district.

Moses Otim, the returning officer for Dokolo district, announced the results and declared the winners on Wednesday, shortly after the polls closed.

Among the sub-counties, the NRM candidates who won are Agwata sub-county, Morish Okao KG, Bata sub-county, Alex Ojok, Adok sub-county, Rubby Ogwali, and Agwata town council, Tonny Obel Obala.

Shaban Ocen is the LC3 chairperson-elect for Bata town council, Dokolo sub-county, Ray Jimmy Emwaku, Okwalongwen sub-county, and Peter Okuta.

Amwoma sub-county LC3 chairperson-elect is Opono Denis.

In Dokolo South, Christopher Odwe is LC3 chairperson-elect for Dokolo town council, Kangai town council, Denise Ebitu Ower, Kangai sub-county, John Baptist Ekou, Adeknino sub-county Micheal Oleli (Ind), Okwongodul sub-county, and Julius Peter Odur.

Kwera sub-county political leader is David Adim Awany of UPC.

Returning Officer Otim appealed to candidates who are not satisfied with the results to follow legal procedures to address the challenges amicably.

Speaking shortly after the declaration, the newly elected LC3 chairpersons Julius Peter Odur, Rubby Ogwali, and David Adim Awany, all spoke to tndNews, Uganda, appreciating the electors for entrusting them with their votes.

They say the trust offered to them is a sign of democracy and development.

Chairpersons-elect call for reconciliation among candidates and electors in order for them to provide good service delivery to their respective areas.
