The Oyam district woman MP candidate, Jane Frances Acilo, has urged the people in Ngai sub-county to support her candidacy, promising to bring tangible development and economic empowerment to the grassroots.

As were at other campaign venues on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday November 12, Acilo has emphasised that her motivation to join politics is rooted in development, and not to get a job.

“My major vision is to create grassroots income for all,” Acilo said in Ngai. “I’m not here to give you a handout of shs10,000 each, but to provide you with the hooks for fishing.”

She further told the gathering: “I’m bringing new ideas that will help the people of Oyam district to generate sustainable income.”

A sporty lady and commercial farmer, Acilo highlighted her ongoing initiatives, including the continued distribution of improved maize seeds to farmers.

These seeds, she projects will increase yields and boost household incomes. “How many of you received the maize seeds I supplied earlier?” she asked. Dozens, rose up their hands in affirmation. “That was just a sample of what is to come,” she said.

In Ngai, she revealed that the markets for agricultural produce, especially maize grains, are available.

“I have already engaged dealers who will buy maize grains from us here in Oyam, with a minimum price of shs1,000 per kilogram. If you have maize, register at any of my offices located in all 16 sub-counties and town councils of Oyam district.”

A new phase of maize seed distribution will start in February 2026 due to high demand, she stated.

She appealed to the people of Ngai sub-county to vote for her based on her manifesto and vision and encouraged them to support all NRM candidates to facilitate development from the village level up to the presidency.

“Vote for me, and you will enjoy more fruits of my hands,” Acilo concluded.
