Agago RDC urges NRM leaders to strengthen effective mobilisation for votes

In a strategic move to bolster the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) prospects in the upcoming elections, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Agago, James Nabinson Kidega, spearheaded a high-energy rally for NRM leaders and stakeholders.

The meeting, held at the Lira Palwo town council headquarters in Agago district, brought together officials from both the town council and Lira Palwo sub-county.

The gathering united a broad spectrum of local leadership, including NRM party officials, local government leaders, and influential community figures from the village up to the sub-county level.

As a seasoned administrator and a trusted ally of the NRM, the RDC opened the meeting with a stirring address. “Friends, the time for politics as usual is over,” he declared. “We must gear up and deliver. The people are looking up to us, and we must not disappoint.”

Kidega provided a candid assessment of the party’s position, outlining both its strengths and weaknesses while highlighting areas requiring urgent attention.

“We have a strong grassroots structure, but we must do more to mobilise our supporters,” he stated. “We need to get back to the basics, engage with the people directly, and address their concerns effectively.”

He issued a direct call to action, urging the party leadership to rally the populace to vote for President Yoweri Museveni, Minister Beatrice Akello Akori for Agago District Woman Representative, Anywar Ricky Richard for Agago West, and for all NRM flag bearers across the country.

Inspired by the RDC’s charge, the NRM leaders pledged to redouble their efforts. They collaboratively mapped out a detailed plan to strengthen mobilisation, with a focus on key strategies such as door-to-door canvassing, community outreach programs, and targeted youth engagement.

The RDC’s closing message was unequivocal, saying, “The NRM is counting on its leaders to deliver. “We must be the change we want to see.” “Let’s go out there and mobilise our people, let’s bring them on board, and let’s win this election.”

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Armed with a clear plan and a shared vision, the NRM leaders dispersed to rally their supporters and spread the party’s message across the district.
