By Nasuru Hassan Ocen | Bosco Elweru, also known as Onyambu, the LC1 chairperson of Awinyi-Pany Cell, Central Ward, Dokolo Town Council in Dokolo district is dead.
Onyambu died in a road crash along the Dokolo-Bata road on Monday evening.
According to Charles Oduku, the LC1 of Opokotedo “A” village, the incident occurred around 8:00 pm when Elweru, who was riding a motorcycle with registration number UED 259 X heading to Dokolo, was knocked down by another motorcyclist, Ray Okullu.
Okullu was riding a motorcycle with registration number UET 788 T towards Bata. Elweru reportedly died on the spot.
Oduku said that they managed to intercept the motorcycle belonging to Okullu, a resident of Bar-Tugu Village, Dokolo sub-county. However, Okullu is still at large.
He added that the police of the Dokolo Central Police Station were immediately called to respond to the scene.
One police officer confirmed the fatal crash and said a team of officers visited the site to conduct investigations.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are still under police investigation, the officer said.
The deceased was a community person who was actively involved in various development initiatives.
