Dokolo businesswomen intercepted over shoe theft in Soroti

By Nasuru Hassan Ocen | On Sunday September 14, Bonny Okeng, Director of Jesus Care Enterprise based in Soroti said he intercepted two businesswomen from Dokolo over the alleged theft of shoes.

Okeng said the two suspects stole sacks packed with new shoes worth shs 52m.

He added that the two suspects, identified as Holiver Nakago, 32, and her friend, only identified as Vicky, had been stealing from Jesus Care Enterprise located at Dubai market, Liverpool road.

According to Okeng, these women started going to his wholesale shop every Sunday from August 31, 2025. However, on Sunday, they were intercepted red-handed at around 2pm.

Each of the two suspects, he revealed, stole sacks packed with new shoes worth shs26m.

He added that cameras installed at the shop helped them to track the footage of the two suspects.

After intercepting them, they were handed over to the police at Soroti Central Police Station.

Lawrence Alele, the chairperson of the Dokolo Mobile Vendors Association, said Holiver Nakago shamed the image of businesspeople and also failed to join the association.

Alele appealed to business people to avoid stealing but to transact good business.
