Dokolo | Dr. Lalam Anna Grace Atine, a former contestant in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries, has officially crossed to the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The development was confirmed by FDC’s Dokolo District Chairperson, Julius Peter Okello Awany, who revealed that Dr. Lalam joined the opposition party on August 13 during the 19th FDC National Delegates Conference held at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala.

The conference brought together FDC delegates from across the country.

Okello Awany, also known as Acan pii Ocan, announced that Dr. Lalam was unveiled as the FDC flag bearer for the Dokolo district woman Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming polls.

He appealed to voters to rally behind her, saying her leadership would drive positive change and development in the district.

He further urged NRM supporters not to be alarmed by Lalam’s decision, stressing that shifting political allegiance is a constitutional right.

Instead, he encouraged them to focus on supporting good leadership that benefits the people of Dokolo.

When contacted, Dr. Lalam confirmed her defection and reiterated her commitment to serving the people of Dokolo under the FDC ticket.

She appealed for voter support to secure the Woman MP seat, promising effective representation in the 2026 elections.
