Over 1,000 patients turned up on the first day of the Maruzi North Medical Camp, which kicked off on July 20, 2025, at Atar Health Center II in Apac district.

While opening the medical camp, Health Minister and Lira City Woman MP, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, announced that this year’s camp features specialists from Mulago National Referral Hospital and Mengo Hospital Eye Clinic.

The minister added that over 1,500 free eyeglasses were available for those in need, urging the local community to value their lives by turning up in large numbers for the medical camp, emphasizing that “health is paramount in this world.”

Dr. Aceng also called upon all residents of Apac district to mobilize their friends and relatives to take part in this life-changing intervention.

The medical camp was organized by NRM flag bearer for Maruzi North, Otim Bernard Odoc, as part of his efforts to serve the community ahead of the 2026 elections.

Addressing patients on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Atar Health Center II, Odoc thanked Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero for valuing the lives of the people by bringing in health workers from different parts of the country.
