On Monday, June 2, 2025, Moses Opito, an aspirant for the Oyam South MP seat in the 2026 elections, obtained nomination forms from the NRM electoral commission offices in Kampala.
“This phase allows me to participate in the ruling party primary elections and to hold the flag in the main elections next year,” he said later in the day.
On his continued promises to the people of Oyam South, Opito stated, “I am more than ready to serve you and represent your interests in the 12th Parliament.”
“The voice of the people of Oyam South will be heard more loudly than ever in 2026-2031,” he added.
He announced on Monday, “In the coming days, I and my team will be updating you extensively on our major agendas, and we are open to listening to you at any time.”
Opito, a professional lawyer and surveyor, has promised to “protect the lands of the local people of Oyam South and Lango,” as well as to ensure that land titles are processed and issued quickly.
His priorities also include access to clean water and roads.
Ahead of the primary elections, he believes NRM party delegates in Oyam South will elect him.
“This is the first phase towards our success,” he said on picking nomination forms.
