The National Unity Platform, NUP party has lost its member who was representing the people of Kawempe North to the 11th Parliament.
Muhammad Ssegirinya death was officially announced by Lubaga Hospital administration on Thursday afternoon.
There were earlier reports of his death, but later the hospital administration said he was still “very sick and needs our prayers.”
According to the statement, Ssegirinya passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 12:10 pm.
Due to his frequent hospital stays in Uganda and overseas, he barely participated in the 11th Parliament as an MP.
Many will remember him as a generous, down-to-earth man who was dedicated to serving Kawempe North.
As part of the protocol, he will be taken to Parliament for final tributes before he’s laid to rest on Sunday.
