Why Loro prioritized Odike-Ogwangapur road via Abongodero?

Loro sub-county in Oyam district will soon begin construction on the Odike-Ogwangapur road via the Abongodero community road, Okunu Nelson Patrick told tndNews last week.

Loro’s LC3 chairperson, Okunu, described the budget for the above road works as “tangible.”

“This is one of the roads that connects people from here (Loro) to a health facility, learners use it, and it connects Loro to Acaba; traders from Loro use it to go to Macodwogo market, and those from Macodwogo bring us money to Loro market,” Okunu explained when asked why his leadership chose to work on the road.

He stated that the road is important for the Loro sub-county and its people in terms of development.

He stated that at least shs20 million has been allocated for work on this road, and that construction will begin in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024/2025.

The LC3 chairperson confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has released funds for road infrastructure across the country.

According to him, the amount is shs15.9 trillion.

He stated that money from the Uganda Road Fund is included in the above release.

“It has given us real hope that the money will arrive, and when it does, we will begin work in November or December.”
