Okodo’s shs68m for Amolatar school dormitories

Amolatar | Akol Primary School in Amolatar District will have two dormitories for boys and girls. Peter Okodo has provided funding for this development.

Okodo is the Director of the Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences in Lira City, and he has expressed interest in 2026 politics.

His focus is on the Kyoga North MP seat on the NRM ticket.

On Monday, November 11, 2024, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the dormitories. This event was organized by Okodo, and attended by many, including religious leaders.

“I have returned home, and my aim is to elevate the standards of education for our youth,” he said.

“Education is the cornerstone of progress in this nation. I am confident that I will succeed in transforming Kyoga North.”

During the ceremony, Julius Etum, the head teacher of Akol Primary School, emphasized that the construction of the dormitories is critical to improving academic performance, arguing that a school with poor performance is meaningless.

The two dormitories will house both boys and girls. The overall cost is shs68,200,000.

The project is expected to be completed within three months, accommodating over 1,000 pupils, as noted by Etum.

Rev. Dick Odur of Aputi Parish observed that some leaders pretend to be poor when, in fact, they are wealthy.

He reiterated the church’s commitment to the project and urged that it be completed efficiently to avoid accidents.

Rev. Odur emphasized that Okodo is the type of leader who genuinely cares about the local community’s development, as opposed to others who prioritize their own interests.

Felix Ogwal, a local resident, expressed hope that Okodo’s initiatives would provide long-term benefits to the community.

Kawa Dicken, a member of Okodo’s campaign team, urged voters to be vigilant during the upcoming general election and to reject any negative influences.

The chief guest, Moses Aboko, emphasized that factors such as party affiliation, religion, and culture should be ignored in order to support the most qualified candidate.

He also noted that Okodo’s contributions go beyond political boundaries.
