Iron sheets go to the “right ones”

Iron sheets

Lira | Last week, 520 iron sheets were delivered to Lira City Council authority by Lira City woman MP and Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng.

The iron sheets were requested from the Prime Minister’s Office and will be distributed to several educational and religious institutions in Lira City.

Lira Modern Primary School, one of the recipients, received 120 pieces. PAG Worship Centre received 300 iron sheets, while Yaweh Mission received 100.

The donated iron sheets will cover the dilapidated classrooms at Lira Modern Primary School, which are currently in a sorry state and pose a threat to learners’ lives.

Dr. Aceng assured the beneficiaries that the iron sheets were not for Karamoja when she delivered it, saying she lobbied for it from the OPM.

Dr. Aceng urged Lango’s religious leaders to preach to their followers the value of teamwork, which has the power to lobby and overcome obstacles.

“There is much need to work as a team as politicians, cultural and church leaders. “Let us not fail our people; together, we can do much better for them,” Aceng said.

Dr. Aceng, who is already seeking the same mandate in 2026, thanked her electorate for not choosing a party and believing in President Museveni’s leadership.

Lillian Grace Ocare, Lira City’s deputy town clerk, who received the consignment on behalf of the city council, promised to deliver the iron sheets to the intended recipients.

Ocare thanked Minister Dr. Aceng, describing her as “a transformer of development, something the city is proud of.”

Religious leaders were present at the event, and Ocare asked them to pray for Minister Aceng, who is a people-centered leader.

Chris Ongom, who led the delegation from the PAG Worship Centre, thanked Aceng for her generosity to the church since construction began.

He stated that the minister has been coordinating with many people who have made significant contributions to the completion of the church building.

Ogom stated that the church’s role is not only to spiritually transform the community, but also to engage and preach the concept of wealth creation in support of various government programs aimed at combating poverty within the household.
