Soroti district security authorities on Thursday arrested Ocen Michael.
Ocen has been dubbed “a notorious PDM Sacco leader for Aparisa parish” in Tubur sub-county, Soroti district.
In response to the community’s cry, a team made up of Commercial Officers, the RDC, Assistant RDC, Diso, and Deputy Diso hurried to Aparisa parish for a community baraza.
During the baraza, community and PDM beneficiaries accused Ocen of charging exorbitant fees ranging from shs20,000 to shs45,000 to benefit from PDM.
Others accused him of working alone to create a list of beneficiaries. Ocen has also been accused of removing his Vice, Eliru Julius, and replacing him with Ocung, who was not elected by the people.
Others accuse Ocen of smuggling non-registered beneficiaries and preferring his own people over others.
As of Friday morning, Ocen remained in the police cell while investigations were ongoing.
