Alebtong |On Friday, September 27, 2024, Denis Hamson Obua, the Government Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Ajuri County, began distributing iron sheets to several churches in his constituency.
Churches that benefited included Anglican, Catholic, and Pentecostal.
Alanyi Catholic Parish (Greater Abako) was given 200 iron sheets, Ajuri Anglican Archdeaconry (Greater Amugu) received 200 iron sheets, and Pentecostal Church Uganda – PCU (Greater Omoro) received 110.
Obua and his team first made the same donation to twelve schools. The Friday donation was intended to help churches that play an important role in disseminating Christian teachings and promoting the spiritual well-being of their members.
The recipients of the roofing sheets, according to MP Obua’s office, were selected from the three main sub-counties that helped form Ajuri County’s seven administrative divisions.

Speaking to the beneficiaries, GCW Obua stated that the iron sheets came from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The district’s leaders, including the LC5 chairman, Resident District Commissioner, Chief Administrative Officer, and District Security Officer, were present to witness the donation.
LC5 chairman David Keendeny Odongo expressed gratitude to the Government Chief Whip for fulfilling his manifesto and ensuring that Alebtong is recognized on a national scale.
Odongo also urged other leaders to use their lobbying power to secure additional resources, so that the community can benefit from a variety of services.
