Rebecca Amongi, Lango’s daughter, won her fight against Kuikstra at night on September 12, 2024, in Cape Town, South Africa.
Rebecca was the unanimous winner of an extreme fighting championship with three to five minute rounds.
She won a gold medal at the World Championship in Egypt in 2022. She also defeated Felista Mugo in her own backyard in Nairobi, Kenya, a fighter who had not lost in five years.
Amongi’s ultimate destination could be the United States for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The Uganda Police Force extends its congratulations to her!
The Police used their official X handle to post:
“Congratulations to our outstanding officer, No. 77810 PC Amongi Rebecca, on her remarkable achievement in the mixed martial arts promotion fight in Johannesburg, South Africa!
“She defeated the 3rd seed in Africa, Kuikstra, in the 2nd round via technical knockout in the flyweight category.
“PC Amongi’s impressive victory has earned her a spot in an even higher-level promotion fight, where she will compete against elite athletes from Africa in Ghana and Nigeria.
“We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and look forward to her continued success in the world of mixed martial arts.”
