Won Nyaci Yosam Odur to witness the swearing-in of the EC team

Lira | Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii, the Paramount Chief of Lango, has called a special session of the Lango Cultural Foundation (LCF) Council of Owitong for next week in Teboke, Apac district.

According to Prime Minister James Robert Ajal, the council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

The meeting’s main purpose is to swear in the newly appointed members of the electoral commission (EC), who were confirmed by the LCF general assembly on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Palm Garden in Lira City.

Won Nyaci Yosam stated that he has appointed competent, well-constituted members of the Electoral Commission to oversee the November 1 election for his successor.

Last month, he bestowed his blessings and succession mantle on Ambassador Dickson Ogwang-Okul, pending this elective confirmation.

Who is who in the EC team?

The chairperson is Col. Rtd. Dan Opito Odwee, the vice is Patrick Okwir Jaramogi, the secretary is Tonny Ongor, and the members are Molly Akello and Charles Opio.

LCF Prime Minister Ajal added that the other invited people are Itogo Adwong, Advisory Council; LCF General Counsel/Lawyer Emmanuel Egaro; Rwot Adwong, Speaker; women leaders (Rwot Mon), clan representatives of people with disabilities; and male and female youth representatives.

The Regional Police Commander for North Kyoga, RDC of Apac, and DPC of Apac all received a copy of the council meeting letter.
