MP Tonny Ayoo addresses concerns following PLU appointment

PLU

On June 9, MP David Kabanda, Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), appointed a team for the Lango sub-region.

Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, Lira City woman MP is the coordinator who will be deputised by Kwania County MP, Tonny Ayoo as assistant coordinator.

Others are. Following their appointments, a small group of people took to social media to express their thoughts.

Below is what MP Ayoo has written in response to those who are critical of his appointment.

Dear friends and supporters,

I have noticed that, following my recent appointment as Assistant Coordinator Patriotic League of Uganda Lango Sub-region by our leader and CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kanerugaba, some groups have begun to portray the NRM party negatively, citing the loss of prominent members/carders to the PLU.

I wish to inform you that there is no contradiction and conflict between PLU and NRM party under the leadership of Gen. Rtd and the CIC YK Museveni.

PLU is not a political party, but rather a platform dedicated to championing citizens’ patriotic actions in combating corruption and waste of public resources, which are now required reforms for Uganda’s socioeconomic transformation.

Our focus on the common good associated with the emergence of PLU must take precedence over cheap politicking.

My commitment to our party’s values and mission remains unwavering, and I will continue to work towards our party’s goals.

This new role allows me to apply our party’s ideologies of patriotism, pan Africanism, socio-economic transformation and democracy in a different context of building bridges and driving positive change.

Thank you for your continued support. I’m excited to contribute to the greater good while remaining true to our party’s principles.

Best regards,

Hon Tonny Ayo (MP) Kwania County, Assistant PLU Coordinator Lango Sub-Region
