Oyam | Police in Oyam district have been left in dismay following the suspected murder of a married woman and suicidal act by her brother-in-law.
Apolo Sarah, 39 and Okello Allan, 37, all lived in Anyalo cell, Eastern ward in Loro Town Council where the crimes occurred.
Their deaths were reported to the Police by Oyat Patrick, 66, father to the husband of Apolo.

It’s alleged that on April 8, 2024, at around 4:30 pm, Oyat Patrick registered at Loro Police Station a case of suspected murder of his daughter-in-law by an unknown person.
Early in the morning at around 7:00 am, according to the North Kyoga Region Police PRO, SP Patrick Okema, a team of Police officers visited the scene and got information that the deceased had a domestic misunderstanding with the brother-in-law, Okello Allan.
Okello alleged that Sarah was responsible for the divorce of his wife, Robinah.

“Later, Oyat Patrick led the Police to the home of Okello Allan who was discovered hanged on a rope dead in his house,” SP Okema said.

“Scene of crime officers and homicide documented the findings at the scene, relevant statements were recorded from the relatives.”
Both bodies were picked and conveyed to Anyeke Health IV pending postmortem, the PRO added.
The deceased was a wife to Olobo Solomon, a prison warder working in Kampala and brother to Okello Allan who allegedly committed suicide.

“We suspect Okello could be behind the death of Sarah and later hanged himself since he had developed a misunderstanding with Sarah. At the same time, he has a history of smoking opium.”
The investigation is going on to establish what exactly happened, SP Okema told tndNews.
“We call for calmness from both relatives of the deceased to allow Police to conduct further findings.”
Available (preliminary) report with Police indicates that Oyam has lost three people to murder in less than a day.
