Kitgum Lions won the Nile Special Rugby 15 Northern region championship on Saturday, defeating Omoro Kings.
Kitgum Lions finished first with 101 points, followed by Gulu Falcon with 48 points.
Lira Bull finished third with 24 points, while Omoro was fourth from the bottom with zero points.
Morish Oruru, club secretary for Lira Bull and Uganda Northern Rugby Clubs said, their last game was a very difficult one although it ended in a peaceful manner.
He said there was no indiscipline case registered.
“We lost our game, but the challenge began with a game against Kitgum Lion two weeks ago due to a smaller number of players; there were only 10 players at halftime, not 15.”
Oruru added that the majority of their players are students.
“We really needed to win against the Kitgum Lions,” he said.
He added that the two Northern table leaders will face champions from the Western, Eastern, and Central regions.
