Video: Akena brands Nyangkori “best and strong candidate”

Dokolo | UPC campaigns have entered the fourth day with Agwata and Adok sub-counties hosting the Sunday rallies.

UPC and other political parties’ candidates and two independent candidates have until March 19 to conclude their votes’ seeking.

Addressing a rally at Tetugu village, Agwata on Sunday, UPC president Jimmy Akena hit back at some opposition leaders who have been quoted to say he is chasing away “the best”.

“If you’re not satisfied with your candidate that’s not my problem,” Akena, also Lira City East MP, hit back.

“I’m here to campaign for my best and strong candidate for Dokolo by-election Sarah Aguti Nyangkori. Not to talk about people,” he added.

The electoral commission has scheduled March 21 for a byelection to elect the new Dokolo district woman Member of Parliament.

On March 11 and 12, the commission nominated seven candidates. Only will of them will come on top on Thursday to succeed the former representative, Cecilia Atim Ogwal.
