Dokolo | tndNews has obtained information from key sources that some of the NRM women who refused to step down for the party’s official flagbearer, Elau will step down, today.
At least four will throw out their political towels, after prior discussions with party top leaders.
During the discussions, key conditions were made, among which refunding the money they had [have] spent.
Two, some be appointed to key positions in the government.
“Some of the NRM women who disagreed with the party and they were coming as independent today will withdraw from contesting,” a senior party official told Denis Arao, the tndNews correspondent.

Asked for a comment, one of the aspirants who asked not to be identified, said: “It’s highly possible I won’t continue, but that is what my party bosses have to announce.”
Today, [March 2], NRM senior leaders led by Secretary General Richard Todwong, director for mobilisation, Rosemary Seninde and electoral commission chairman, Dr Tanga Odoi are meeting delegates in Dokolo ahead of a busy March.
During the district conference, the party leader from the secretariat, Todwong, will unveil the party flag bearer, and announce the decision of the party on the rest.
