Dokolo | On Monday, March 11, the Electoral Commission started the nominations of aspirants for Dokolo district woman MP by-election.
Nomination started with NRM’s Adongo Rose Elau at 10 am and UPC’s Shara Nyangkori followed at 1 pm.
She was scheduled to be nominated at 11 am, but a delay ensued.
At least seven are in the queue to be nominated. The process ends on Tuesday.
Business in Dokolo Town Council came to a standstill after UPC party president Jimmy Akena arrived for the nomination of Nyangkori.
Akena is accompanied by Santa Alum Ogwang (MP district WMP), Maruzi North MP Nelson Okello Lemba, including SG Fred Ebil Ebil.
DK Odongo, Alebtong LC5 chairman is also with Akena in Dokolo.
Auma Kenny, Kwania district woman MP is present as well.
Akena is expected to address party supporters.
Meanwhile, Dr Rosemary Alwoc of FDC has also been nominated. She’s in the race to replace her late mother, Cecilia Atim Ogwal.
The former woman MP, Ogwal (RIP) died aged 77 on January 18 and was laid to rest on January 27.

Dr Alwoc’s FDC party president, Patrick Oboi is in the district to root for her.
