In recent times, Dr Odoi has been criticized by many, including “his nephew”.
Kampala I The National Resistance Movement (NRM) national youth league leaders have attacked the party’s Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi.
They say the commission boss is a “lumpen and hooligan” dragging the party backwards through illegalities.
Parts of this attack are contained in the youth’s press release of March 9, 2024.
The press release alleges that Odoi is fronting his son identified as “Collins Odoi” to become the next chairperson of NRM Youth League. The move, according to the same release is “through undemocratic means”.
“We would like to condemn some party leaders at NRM the Secretariat, especially Mr. Tanga Odoi who is using his son a one Tanga Collins whom he wants to contest as Chair NRM Youth League and thinks he would rig elections for him like he did in the Makerere University Convocation elections,” reads the statement.
“We would like to request the National Chairman to bring to order Mr Tanga Odoi who has in the recent past turned himself into a lumpen and a hooligan.”
“His conduct is wanting and not fit to hold public office,” the youths concluded.
Tanga Odoi is not new to controversies and condemnation from “his own”. In Tororo where he comes from, he has been accused many times, for example, by his nephew, Odaka Asuman.
