Covid pandemic has ravaged the country’s economy and deformed people for more than two years.
Lira – January 17, 2022: A total of 158,676 have tested positive for Covid-19 in Uganda from more than 2 million tests conducted. The government data of January 15 is showing.
According to the Ministry of Health figures released on Monday 17; 438 tested positive from 7,404 samples tested.
And while the test positivity rate keeps declining – from 6.5% as of January 14 to 5.9% on January 15, deaths continue to surge.
On 14 January, 17 died and 13 succumbed on 15 January, according to the available data.
Only 164 are admitted at different health facilities while 98, 957 have recovered.
Kampala and Wakiso are still leading with high infections numbers and more than 20 districts across the country have cases.
