Two men imprisoned for defiling girls aged 16, 17

At the same court, chief magistrate Abiti Loum also imprisoned Dickens Omara, 23, to 7 years after he pleaded guilty of defiling a-16-year-old girl.

Lira—15, December 2021: Lira chief magistrate court has sentenced David Okori, 28, for defiling a-17-year-old senior four student.

Okori pleaded guilty of the offense. Prosecution told court that he defiled the girl in July 2020 and later she started living with her illegally as his wife in September 2021.

Prior, the defiled girl’s parent testified that, after searching for their daughter for months, found her in Okori’s chest!

The Lira chief magistrate Samson Abiti Loum on 14 December sentenced him to 7 years in prison after the accused wasted no court’s time by pleading guilty.

At the same court, chief magistrate Abiti Loum also imprisoned Dickens Omara, 23, to 7 years after he pleaded guilty of defiling a-16-year-old girl.

Evidence showed that he defiled a 16-year-old girl in Atego ‘A’ village, Lira City East Division. This happened in September 2021. Like Okori, he also illegally lived with the girl as his wife.

While delivering Omara’s sentence, Samson Abiti Loum averred that Omara could have received a-life-imprisonment sentence according to the charge against him.

“But because he pleaded guilty without wasting the court’s time, this court now sentences him to 7 years.”
