Lira – August 4, 2021: On August 2, 2021 in Loro sub county, Alimo village, in Oyam district a sudden death occurred.
Apio Ruth, 50, died after taking alcohol. Before she passed on, according to police report, she developed breathing difficulty.
This happened at 21:00 on Tuesday. The incident was reported at Loro police station vide: Loro GEF:04/2021.
The North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, ASP Jimmy Patrick Okema says it is alleged that on the 2, Aug 2021 Apio Ruth got complications with breathing suspected to have come as a result of taking alcohol on the 1, August 2021.
He added the deceased went and bought alcohol and invited a friend.
“They drunk together but she started having itching throat and difficulty in breathing and she was rushed to the clinic and later passed on,” Okema added.
Police action
He says the scene was visited by Officer in Charge and his team of Scene of crime officers and homicide. “Postmortem done but report not yet retrieved.”
Also, he says statements were recorded, inquiries still at hand.
“Sample was taken for COVID-19 test, since those are signs of Covid-19,” he disclosed.
