- Gulu ‘City’ Woman MP hopeful’s home robbed, academic documents confiscated
Wakiso – The home of the Gulu ‘City’ Woman MP aspirant in the coming 2021 general polls has been raided.
Ms Laker Jolly Grace while recording her statement with police at Kasangati police station, said that she woke up at 1am after hearing her young daughter screaming; rushed to the sitting room where she found seven men armed with panga, machetes and other sharp objects.
She also told the police that the men ordered her to produce her academic documents of which she handed over to them and was confiscated.
According to Laker, the men also ordered her to handover her car key, registration number UAP 515Z, a Prado VX model which she did.
“They took most of my electronic appliances which includes television set, and also 3 Iphone, a wedding ring, and many others.
“My daughter sustained some minor injury out of beating by the gang,” she told police.
Laker Jolly Grace who is the director of Invisible Children and WENDA AFRICA has shown interest to contest for Gulu ‘City’ Woman MP in the coming polls.
The case has been registered at Kasangati police station under CRB: 04/16/03/2020 as the investigation into the matter by the police continues.
