Amolatar – Mourners from different parts of Uganda on Friday were in Amolatar to decently bury their slain brother killed by nameless people.
Omara Bonny who was found killed last week in Ocukuru ‘A’ village, Adekokwok sub-county in Lira Municipality, prior worked for National Resistance Movement [NRM] party.
After the emergence of People Power Movement under Bobi
Wine, he left ruling party for the pressure group.
Speaking to TND News on Friday evening, People Power Chief Coordinator for Lango sub-region, Mr Okot B’tek, said: “We attended the sending off of our slain comrade Omara Bonny.”
Mourners from Acholi sub-region, Kampala and other sub-regions joined people of Lango in the funeral.

In his message to the bereaved family and to Ugandans, Honourable Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine said he was saddened by the death of Omara Bonny who he says died under a very mysterious circumstances.
“It’s obvious from the pictures we show that our brother died a very painful and a brutal death. There are very many questions about Bonny’s death and yet very few answers. We urge the police to carry out very swift investigations so that the truth gets out about the Bonny’s death.”
Eulogising the deceased, Bobi Wine added: “Bonny was a great supporter of People Power and indeed a mobiliser and as People Power we are deeply saddened by his passing. We commiserate with Bonny’s family and we pray the Good Lord comforts you all.”
Speaking last week on the murder, Police Spokesperson, CP Fred Enaga cautioned politicians from uttering false statement.
“We would like to caution the media and politicians to stop politicizing the alleged murder of the victim. Their claims have no substance at this stage,” he said.
