Zombo – Tea farming is destined to eradicate household poverty in northern Uganda, impoving the lives of farmers, says Edwin Atukunda Beekunda, the founder and executive director of the Edwin Foundation Tea Initiative Limited [EFOTI].
Mr Atukunda, who first introduced tea farming in Kamwenge district, adds that tea will, undoubtedly cause transformation in the region.
Since taking his tea initiative to northern Uganda, starting with Acholi sub-region, the region has massively welcomed tea – thanks to support from the region’s leaders.
In West Nile, different district leaders, tea farmers’ group in Zombo, and Alur Kingdom have all offered their supports to Mr. Atukunda and his foundation.
His presence has also witnessed the sub-region, West Nile able to process and pack her organic-sweet-flavored, Zombo Tea now being sold to as far as Democratic Republic of Congo
