Lira: “Heavy security deployment” as suspected Indian killers returns to Court

There is somewhat heavy deployment of police and prison warders within and outside Lira High Court – today, Monday.

The deployment is to avert any possible havoc that may commence as two Indian traders, charged with murder of Kole pupil, Dickens Okello, 11 are brought back before Grade One Magistrates’ Court.

“The Court premises is well guarded by both prison and police personnel. I can see this time prison warders holding teargas canisters. Outside the Court – at Mayor’s grounds, two UP vehicles are staged there with Anti riot police,” TND News Uganda’s Immaculate Amony reports – from Lira High Court.

“However, entry inside the court premises is as usual. No checking, no restriction,” she added.

Madmay Gaga, 22, and Vayas Fravay, 27 were produced before Lira Grade One Magistrates’ Court on Monday 19th, November, 2018.

They were soon remanded to Soroti government prison by Grade One Magistrate, Adiro Igah who read charges against them. The court did not allow them to take any plea.
