The matter on who is the legitimate paramount chief of Lango is currently before the Court of Appeal in Kampala.
Mr Ogwang’s affidavit to the Court of Appeal, which tndNews has a copy of, says the following:
The Court of Appeal is scheduled to start hearing an appeal for a stay of execution by Eng. Odongo Okune and others.
Won Nyaci Yosam Odur Ebii has received support among section of residents of Minakulu and Loro town councils in Oyam South.
Lango culture is currently in a mess, and the recent court ruling maybe not bring unity immediately.
Odur, who is 98 years old, appears to be resuming his Lango cultural reign following the landmark ruling.
Willie Omodo Omodo, the LCI speaker, and his group claim that the ruling was influenced by Parliament Speaker Annet Anita Among.
The government will soon remove Eng Dr Michael Odongo Okune from the gazette as ordered by the court.
The High Court judge ruled that Eng. Moses Odongo Okune and Amb Ogwang Okul were not duly elected the Won Nyaci of Lango.
By press time, tndNews had yet to receive official communication from the Lango Cultural Institution.
I categorically deny claims that Won Nyaci prefers me, his son, as the next Won Nyaci. These allegations are baseless, misleading, and intended to cause confusion among our people.
Lango got another Won Nyaci elect after an election held on October 11.
