I’m Sorry! Former NUP Supporter Madubala Is In Tears, Seeks Forgiveness After Those Who Used To Send Him Money Blocked Him For Insulting Bobi Wine

Former National Unity Platform (NUP) supporter and shoe hawker Madubala is reportedly seeking forgiveness from NUP supporters and party officials following his recent criticism of party president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine.

According to claims circulating on social media, Madubala has been left distressed after some people who previously supported him financially reportedly stopped sending him money following his remarks against the opposition leader.

The reports further claim that several Ugandans living in the diaspora who had been sending him financial assistance blocked him and deleted his mobile phone number after he publicly attacked Bobi Wine.

Madubala, who is known for selling shoes to earn a living, had reportedly benefited from financial support from well-wishers who followed his activities and sympathised with his situation.

His latest reported appeal for forgiveness has therefore attracted attention, particularly among NUP supporters who had previously associated him with the party and its activities.

The controversy has also triggered discussions about the relationship between political loyalty, personal friendships and financial support, especially when public figures or ordinary supporters take positions that differ from those of people who previously supported them.

However, the claims about Madubala’s financial situation, the alleged blocking of his number and his reported apology have not been independently verified. His own full account of what happened would help establish the circumstances surrounding the controversy.

For now, the incident has placed Madubala back in the public conversation, with attention focused on whether NUP supporters and the diaspora well-wishers who previously assisted him will accept his reported appeal for forgiveness.
